Check out this great advice from Paul White at SoundOnSound:
This is an excellent list of essential things to bear in mind if you’re considering doing your own audio recording and mixing!
Remember: A Good Master Starts With a Good Mix.
We’ve heard a lot of people say that mastering doubles the quality of a recording. We agree; but only slightly. You see, we believe that professional post-production doesn’t just double the quality — it exponentially increases the quality of a correctly mixed recording.
This isn’t the first time (or actually the 2nd time) we’ve mentioned the exponential effect on The Mastering Blog, but for those of you who missed it, watching the video is more fun than reading anyway.
A lot’s been happening here at the Studio lately… we’re excited to be in the middle of it.
Stay tuned for the latest developments!
Cheers!
