We never expected the mixing competition to be so popular. After some serious listening, we’ve narrowed it down to our favorite 10 songs. We don’t want to be the only ones to vote though, so we’re working on a way for our readers to vote for the best mix as well.

I’m always asking our head engineer for DIY tips to share with our readers because he knows so much about recording and mixing as well as mastering. So the other day, I got an email from him that surprised me. I was expecting a bunch of audio-physionetics that only the most techie DIY musicians would [...]

I just ran across the JamHub. This nifty little guy is supposed to make it possible for bands to jam without disturbing their neighbors. Unless you’ve got electronic drums, you’ve probably still got a problem, but I think the JamHub is valuable for a different reason entirely…
As a part of The Studio Team here @ [...]

Hey gang; Will here. Just got off the line with Bob Harvey who runs musicmastering.org. If you haven’t seen his website, check it out. It’s a young site, but it’s shaping up to be a real resource for artists and producers who want to learn more about the practical (applicable) world of audio mastering.
Whether you [...]

We love audio mastering – it’s what we do, but there’s a big problem…
Most people think (especially mastering engineers) that all mastering does is affect the audio itself.
It’s a lot more than that. When a band gets their CD mastered, they give themselves a better chance to actually be heard amid the ever-increasing competition of [...]
